Look, Look Ahead 2025

Look, look towards our new year ahead.

Being sick and tired filled with dread.

Most of this year I have been in bed.

Better off alive then being dead.

Conflicts between Russia and Ukraine.

Too much hurting and with too much pain.

Murdering each other is insane.

For an inch or two of land to gain.

Many issues plague the Middle East.

Countries there is no need for a feast.

Throughout time since David and the Beast.

Ideologies that have not ceast.

Last year for President we did vote

Read about each one and took a note

Feelings for someone now will emote.

Tried to pick a good one not a goat

Be safe and go north, south, east and west.

Take breaks for ourselves, stay calm and rest.

Spend hours with each other as a guest.

Visit with people and do our best.

Will we be safe or in the lion’s den?

No one knows what is next to happen.

Are we a chicken or a scared hen?

One day all quarrels will end, but when?

Empowering Recovery: Mental HEALTH AFFAIRS BLOG

In a world filled with noise, where discussions on mental health are often either stigmatised or oversimplified, one blog has managed to carve out a space for authentic, in-depth conversations: Mental Health Affairs. Founded by Max E. Guttman, LCSW, the blog has become a sanctuary for those seeking understanding, clarity, and real talk about the complexities of mental health—both in personal experiences and in larger societal contexts.

Raw and honest. No sugar coating and no cliche-ing. Words of despair does open the door to optimistic and hope. Short piece but a lot can be unpacked.
